Miyazaki Gardens
House at the Miyazaki British Garden, Japan
Robin Templar Williams, eminent Garden Designer prepared the design of the British Garden for the Miyazaki Urban Greening Fair in Japan. Robin wished to have four garden designs for the British Garden which comprised Formal, Cottage, Meadow and Seaside centred upon a single house which had four different facades to reflect the character of each of these gardens.
Robin asked Mark Reeves to design this house as a focal point to each of these gardens.
We designed the house and prepared detailed working drawings for its construction. The house was built in London, deconstructed and sent to Miyazaki in a container ship where it was re-built on site. These images, both drawings and photographs show the proposals and the completed project.
Robin Williams, FSGD was one of the founder members of the Society of Garden Designers and a chairman in its earliest days. He worked with Institute of Horticulture and RHS which in 2003 awarded him the prestigious Veitch Memorial Medal. Robin set up a design practice receiving 12 medals at the Chelsea Flower show and took commissions all over the globe.
